A new modern, very comfortable hotel to the high standards of Hilton. Unfortunately, dined in Queenstown ( Botswana Butchery - excellent) and did not get to experience what is reported and looks like great dining facilities.

While not central to Queenstown, the hotel offers good forms of transport ( water taxi a good experience ). Minor communication problem with Internet access was quickly resolved in the expected Hilton manner. Hotel needs to see an Internet fee for wifi service, to the low volume user, no matter the price, is a huge turn off.

Service, luxury and an excellent location. The Kawerau Village is frankly better than Queenstown itself. The professional spa, massage and pool are access card only which means no onlookers and complete privacy. The locker rooms have a sauna and steam rooms attached, maintaining a secluded and peaceful place to relax. The setting for pre dinner drinks is warm and comfortable with stunning views. The corner store café will box your lemon tart and give you cutlery to take back to your room. The chefs at Stacks Pub next door cook exactly as asked. Of course, the view is great and the rooms extremely comfortable.

The bed was the most comfortable lush bed I have ever slept in. I want one for home.

Travel to Queenstown from the hotel was either by water taxi at $15 return or in the morning there were free transfers by car to town. The hotel's distance from town was its only negative aspect. My room was amazing; on split levels; lounge area and then up a level to the bedroom. The lounge led onto a balcony with a view that couldn't be bettered. Bed was soooo comfortable and the bathroom was huge and ultra modern. The mini bar prices were reasonable which I liked as I really resent being ripped off if I want to indulge myself. The area around the hotel is of outstanding beauty and there are lovely walks or bike rides just outside the hotel.

    Its distance from Queenstown.

Everything was perfect. Best hotel in New Zealand. Kiwis in the tourism sector should learn from it.

Maybe a bit far from the center.

This is an absolutely fantastic luxury hotel in a stunning setting. The room was brilliant, with a great view over the lake and amazing facilities. One major plus for me (which has been highlighted in other reviews as a negative) was the location. I knew that (and was happy that) the hotel was outside of Queenstown. I did not want to stay directly in Queenstown and I was not there to participate in adventure sports or nightlife. I wanted quiet relaxation and a bit of luxury and this was exactly what I got. The day trip to Milford Sound (Great Sights) picks up from the hotel so the location is not an issue in that regard. For those who want to stay in Queenstown city centre and be part of the nightlife, there are lots and lots of accommodation options to choose from.

The only negative experience I had during my stay was in Stacks Pub (one of the associated dining options in Kawarau village). It took me 20 minutes to get a menu and a drink. However, once this issue had been addressed, the service from that point on was fine.

The staff were all very friendly. The room was spacious, clean, beautifully appointed. The bathroom was also big and had a large bath tub. The property is right on the lake so it has gorgeous views and is very peaceful. The pool and spa were lovely and just what was needed after walking the Milford Sound track. Is a good 15 minute drive from Queenstown so it is a good idea to hire a car. The taxi prices were exorbitant (ie $50 one way), the water taxi was much cheaper but only ran at certain times. We hired a car for 3 days for about $100 Australian dollars.

We prefer a firm mattress and my only criticism is that the beds were a bit too soft. We stayed in 2 different rooms (one before the walk and one after). One mattress was really soft and the other was better but not great.

Lovely hotel with great views from lakefront rooms. Staff very friendly. Water taxi very handy to get to Queenstown.Great spot.

They did not give us any invoice after chick out.

Great facilities, and a large, comfortable room. with a gas fireplace and large soaking tub in the room. We slept really well all three nights of our stay.

The Hilton was far from the Center of Queenstown, so to drive to town was 15 minutes or a water taxi was available, but for $15 per person round trip.

    Loved our room, very comfortable.

I found 2 hairs in my fish batter while eating dinner at the Stacks Pub restaurant. Took it back up to the bar to get a replacement meal. Was still waiting for my replacement meal to come after at least 30 mins and when I went back up to the bar to check if it was coming, the kitchen hadn't even started it! After running the Motatapu marathon earlier that day, I was really looking forward to a great meal and I was left feeling disappointed and extremely not impressed. So they gave us free drink vouchers to use the next day. Went to the cafe to get two cups of tea. Had to wait 30mins just for drinks of tea and really wanted a crossaint with it, but there was a fly in the cabinet crawling over all the food - really put me off completely!!

The beautiful room and the great breakfast.

If I need to find something than the temperature in the building. A bit to cold :-)

Delayed check in as room was not ready and had to wait 2 hours for room to be ready

  • 9.2

No problems. Had a great time and we will return if the opportunity arises.

Nothing - One suggestion I would like to make was that we had trouble locating your reception area and drove past the entrance. I saw many others do this and suggest a tasteful sign be erected on the fence opposite the entrance for down hill traffic.
